EPA awards grant to West Virginia communities for brownfield site revitalization

Six organizations and communities in West Virginia will receive a combined total of $1.6 million of funding from the EPA for brownfield site revitalization. The Town of Bath (Morgan County), the Brooke-Hancock Regional Planning and Development Council, the City of Thomas (Tucker County), the Upshur County Youth Camp, the City of Vienna (Wood County), and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection will each receive between $100,000 and $600,000. These grants were awarded to the communities based on economic disadvantage eligibility, need for environmental cleanup, and tneed for job creation. The West Virginia communities and organizations are among 172 communities and organizations selected by the EPA to receive funding for brownfield site revitalization.
